St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, FL

Took this just about a year ago on spring break with my best friends from high school. We spent the majority of the week camping at a campground but on the last day and night, we backpacked at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, surely an under appreciated spot in the panhandle of Florida.

I never understood how anybody could camp in the Florida heat. I haven’t been there during the spring, but the summer was unbelievable hot and humid. How was it?

    • It was awesome, both experience AND weather wise. I believe the temperatures were in the high 70’s, sunny, and tolerable humidity, in my opinion. I actually remember feeling a little cool in the mornings and just waiting for the sun to warm the day up. However, on the day this picture was taken (the last day of our trip), it reached 85 so we must have left just in time before the hot weather.
