About Me

Born and raised in metro Detroit, Kevin began taking landscape photos at a young age, primarily inspired by holiday travels and summer trips to the family cottage in northern Michigan. After graduating from Michigan Tech (Houghton, MI) in the rugged Keweenaw Peninsula and Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA) in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, Kevin is currently located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota where he is an environmental engineer.

Kevin Madson Photography is about sharing images from my travel, especially in the Great Lakes region including Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Occasionally, however, scenes from other parts of the country or world might appear. My ultimate passion is to capture and share photos of wild and remote landscapes – it’s a mystery where that will take me next!
